Perspectives of Students Regarding Role of University Teachers in Prompting the Students to Enhance Their Classroom Attendance

چکیده

This study was conducted to quantify views of the students’ regarding role of University Teachers in prompting the students and attracting them towards the classes to enhance their classroom attendance. A structured questionnaire built on the pattern of Likert scale was employed for the data collection. Teaching method employed by the teachers, their dealing with the students and their way of class management remained the focal points of the study. Along with the descriptive analysis, Chi square test was applied to determine the views of students regarding motivative role of the teachers. Results indicated that classroom attendance considerably depends upon certain qualities of the teachers. It was noted that interactive teaching method, inspiring and urging behaviour and democratic method of classroom management by the teachers plays important role in prompting the students to attendant maximum classes.
